Have you ever wondered why lots of people eat Avocados? Have you ever tried this super fruit? Here are a few reasons why incorporating this healthy, creamy green love into your everyday diet is a plus!

Avocados are a great source of lutein, a carotenoid that works as an antioxidant and helps protect against eye disease. They also contain the related carotenoids zeaxanthin, alpha-carotene and beta-carotene, as well as tocopherol (vitamin E).

But avocados aren’t just a rich source of carotenoids by themselves—they also help you get more of these nutrients from other foods. Carotenoids are lipophilic (soluble in fat, not water), so eating carotenoid-packed foods like fruits and vegetables along with monounsaturated-fat-rich avocados helps your body absorb the carotenoids. An easy way to do this is to add sliced avocado to a mixed salad.

Half an avocado contains 3.4 grams of fiber, including soluble and insoluble, both of which your body needs to keep the digestive system running smoothly. Plus, soluble fibre slows the breakdown of carbohydrates in your body, helping you feel full for longer.

Avocados also contain oleic acid, a fat that activates the part of your brain that makes you feel full. Healthier unsaturated fats containing oleic acid have been shown to produce a greater feeling of satiety than less-healthy saturated fats and trans fats found in processed foods.

Avocados can help stabilize blood sugarblood sugar levels.jpg

Rich, creamy, and packed with beneficial monounsaturated fat, avocado slows digestion and helps keep blood sugar from spiking after a meal. A diet high in good fats may even help reverse insulin resistance, which translates to steadier blood sugar long-term. Try putting mashed avocado on sandwiches instead of mayonnaise or on bread instead of butter. To keep what’s left over from turning brown, spritz the flesh with cooking spray or coat with lemon juice and wrap in plastic.

Avocados can protect your unborn baby—and your heart

One cup of avocado provides almost a quarter of your recommended daily intake of folate, a vitamin baby-heart-ratewhich cuts the risk of birth defects. If you’re pregnant—or planning to be—avocados will help protect your unborn baby. A high folate intake is also associated with a lower risk of heart attacks and heart disease. Does your family have a history of heart problems, or do you have risk factors (such as being overweight or smoking) for heart disease? Avocados could help keep your heart healthy.

Avocados can help lower your cholesterol

As well as increasing feelings of fullness, the oleic acid in avocados can help reduce cholesterol levels. In one study,
individuals eating an avocado-rich diet had a significant decrease in total cholesterol levels, including a decrease in LDL cholesterol. Their levels of HDL cholesterol (the healthy type) increased by 11 percent.

High cholesterol is one of the main risk factors for heart disease. The cholesterol-lowering properties of avocado, along with its folate content, help keep your heart healthy.

poor eating

Do you struggle to get fruits into your little ones diet? Are they running and hiding away from the banana, apples and oranges that you chase them around the house to eat then tell them with your best super hero voice " It will make you strong and healthy" We have all been there...

If you are tired of the struggle maybe it's time to try something new! EXACTLY I said it NEW!! Your family could be missing out on some of the tastiest and most nutritious fruits that available! Did you know that all of the colorful and juicy tropical fruits have a natural sweetness to it? The best part about introducing these flavorful fruits to your children now is a great wand easy way to increase the variety and amount of fruit that they eat!

kids

I have listed below a few of our picks and from everyone here that has children tell me what their kids love! These are based off of real people.

mangoes.jpg

Mangoes are loaded with vitamin C, a nutrient that helps wounds heal, promotes healthy gums and keeps your child's immune system strong. One-half cup of sliced mangoes provides more than two-thirds of the vitamin C children under 13 need per day. These make a great afternoon snack for your little one! There are so many varieties of Mangoes to choose from... just to list a few... Coconut Creme Mango it's name says it all the flavor being coconut and very creamy. Lemon Zest Mango instead of adding a splash of lemon juice as some do to their mangoes try this citrus flavored fruit. Those are just a few to help you on your way!

guava

Rich in fiber, guavas can help keep your child's digestive system in top shape. Just one medium guava boasts 3 grams of fiber. That's more than you'd get from a half-cup of cooked brown rice or a small slice of whole-wheat bread. For an even bigger fiber boost, puree whole guavas with the skin on in shakes, smoothies and juices.

avocado

You may think they're a vegetable, but creamy avocados are actually an incredibly versatile fruit. With heart-friendly nutrients like monounsaturated fat and vitamin E, avocados are a smart pick for cardiovascular health. Avocado milkshakes are something that are very popular here. Try something new your heart will thank you!

Papaya.png

In addition to being rich in vitamin A, these pink-orange fruits provide an especially potent form of beta-carotene for healthy skin and eyes. In fact, the form of beta-carotene in papayas is three times easier for our bodies to use than the kind in carrots or tomatoes, according to a 2013 British Journal of Nutrition study. Because beta-carotene requires fat for optimal absorption, pair papaya with avocados and chopped fresh mint in a sweet yet savory salad.

rapoza mango

We were very lucky to get our hands on some of these tasty beauties! This fabulous Hawaiian selection is a medium sized, vigorous, heavy producing tree with excellent fruit quality that range between 26-30 ounces. The ripe skin is yellow, orange with a red or purple blush. The fruit is thin seeded, fiber less and is borne annually in July and August. The taste of this tropical beauty is amazing! Hints of sweet Indian spice aroma and flavor is packed into this gorgeous fruit.

The Rapoza mango makes the most excellent gift you could possibly gift anyone, Rapoza can be grown anywhere in the world. This variety does very well in containers and is disease resistance. You can definitely expect this gift to keep on giving your recipient a bountiful crop in late July to October with a long ripen period!
