You might be asking “why should I buy a mango tree?”

  1. Having the autonomy to grow and harvest your own fruit, from your backyard, in your personal garden, or even in your home allows you the freedom to pick and choose your best fruit and know exactly where and how it was handled.
  2. It’s FUN to grow, and EASY.
  3. You will be making a positive impact on our Earth when you purchase a #PlantOGrams tree, cultivating a sense of love and light through sustainable, environmentally sound consumerism.

If reasons 1-3 aren’t enough, how about we discuss the benefits this enviably sensational fruit offers:

How to care for your new Mango baby once it arrives:

Whether you plan to plant your #PlantOGrams Mango Tree in a pot or in the ground, there are a few steps you will want to plan out first.

Planning

Decide if you will be Indoor or Outdoor planting. Like real-estate, gardening is all about location, location, location. Inside, you will want to make sure your tree has access to light but is also in a well-shaded area to acclimate to its new environment. Outside, once again, you will want to plant your tree in a shaded area while it is growing accustomed to its new environment.

Indoor Planting

You’ve decided you want to grow your baby indoors, congratulations! It will be a fun and rewarding project for you and your family. So, just a few tips to remember:

  1. If you will be using a container, ensure there are proper drainage holes in the bottom so the water doesn’t pool inside the container, which may lead to root rot (essentially drowning the plant).
  2. NEVER water if the soil is already damp, only when it is dry to the touch.
  3. There is some light maintenance to ensure your tropical plant can thrive. For instance, removal of yellowed or damaged leaves and branches will allow for new growth and productivity.
  4. We don’t recommend fertilizing for the first six to eight weeks, but do continue to love, talk tenderly, and water your plants! They can get lonely too.

Outdoor Planting

Planting outdoors can be just as rewarding as indoors, but you must remember that just like indoors, your tree will need love and care as it is getting used to the change of scenery. Here are a few tips for outdoor planting:

  1. Dig a hole that provides adequate space for your plant to stretch its limbs and grow big, luscious fruit.
  2. Take care while removing your plant from the pot, careful to handle it gently when transferring to the ground.
  3. Position so your tree is centered and straight.
  4. Fill in the hole, water your new mango tree, and wait to see those beautiful blossoms and budding fruit to come.
  5. Lastly, we recommend that you stake your tree to avoid damage from the elements, humans, or animals alike. You will want to avoid damaging the bark as you tie your tree to the stakes, but this method will prevent the aforementioned dangers if not properly positioned, and staked.

While this might seem like a lot at first glance, once you have the hang of how to properly care for your new tree, you will see how easy it is to grow your own and become a part of the solution to saving our environment.
