We have over 40+ types of mango's to choose from one of our most asked about mango is the Choc Anon Mango Tree also known as the "Miracle Mango Tree" Why??? Let me explain

choc anon

The Choc Anon Mango gets it's name from Thailand it has been said to the most best tasting mango. It got it's nickname "Miracle Mango" from producing 2 crops a year! That's right you heard me 2. It would produce one crop in the winter and one crop in the summer. If your a person that loves mango and would be happy having it all though the year this would make a great addition to your garden.

This variety of mango is considered to be a dwarf mango and can be kept in a container so you can keep this mango inside by the fire place or even in the kitchen!

Do you grow mango's? What variety do you have? We would love to see your mango's send us a picture and tag us in it!

Pomegranate Blueberry Juice

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Juice the ingredients in the order listed.
  2. Stir and serve immediately.

Serves: 1-2

KitchenTip:  Use just the seeds of a pomegranate for juicing as the membranes will make the juice bitter. To deseed the pomegranate, start by making a thin slice from the bottom to make it stable for cutting. Cut out the core at the top. Make shallow cuts to section into 6 wedges. Gently break the pomegranate apart and pry the seeds out with your fingers. Pomegranate juice can stain, so we suggest wearing gloves and something like an old t-shirt. Work over a bowl to catch the seeds and drips before placing in the juice extractor.

To make sure that you get a good crop this year you will need a little chill for those fruit trees!

If you are planning on purchasing fruit trees like apples, pears, plums and peaches you will have to make sure that these varieties of fruit get some kind of chill hours. This is a number that you will need to make sure that you know when purchasing fruit trees. The required temperatures are between 32-45 degrees for many hours of winter.

This is a question we get a lot of " When am I suppose to prune my fruit trees?"

Pruning initially is like giving your fruit tree a healthy hair cut! By cutting or trimming away excessive over growth of branches you are enabling the production and quality of the fruit. The tree is also a lot healthier making it easier to resist the damage caused by drought, weather, insects and disease. It also also enables the structure of the tree to set fruit and be able to bear the weight of a heavy crop.

The best time to prune is pretty much any time. But for fruit trees it's best to prune them when they are dormant. For some of the cold hardy trees you might want to wait when the coldest weather has passed as newly cut ends can be damaged by a sudden cold snap.
